Spotlight: Christina Stobener, Paid Media Analyst

My name is Christina and I am a Paid Media analyst with Oban International. I’m responsible for making sure that my client’s accounts are managed efficiently. I enjoy the international approach of Oban which means I get to work with platforms such as Yandex and Baidu. I also get an insight into cultural differences when I’m looking at how content pieces have performed in various markets.

  • How and when did you start working in international digital marketing?

I started working at Oban 2 years ago. I have a Master’s Degree in Contemporary History and a PGCE for French and German. I have also worked in a customer service background.

  • What do you enjoy about it?

I find in my current role I am able to use my analytical skills from my degree and I love the multicultural environment here; plus, I get to host training sessions, which I really enjoy.

  • What are the biggest challenges you face?

The digital landscape is constantly developing and there is always something new to learn. Some paid media tools for platforms might not be completely localised into English yet and getting the grasp of them can be tricky.

  • What would you be doing if you didn’t have a career in international digital marketing?

Belly dancer perhaps!

  • What countries have you visited? Which is your favourite and why?

Most countries I have visited have been in Europe, as I’m German and my boyfriend is half-French I spend most of my holidays in one or the other to catch up with family and friends. However, I love short trips to new places and Hungary, particularly Budapest is one of my favourites, as the people are friendly, the architecture is beautiful and you can walk the majority of it.

  • Outside of work hours, you’ll find me….

Reading, practising Pilates, trying out new craft ideas and relaxing

  • Top 3: Brand, site and item of technology

I don’t have a favourite brand, but I do love Pinterest and my Lumix Bridge camera.
