Spotlight: Chloe Butterfill, International Resourcing Apprentice

My name is Chloe Butterfill. I’m an International Resourcing Apprentice and I manage resources both on and off projects.

  • How and when did you start working in international digital marketing?

I have always been interested in the digital marketing world and wanted to work in an industry where I could combine both my organisational and creative skills. I joined Oban in October 2015 because I wanted to be part of a business where there was an opportunity for me to grow alongside the evolving international digital marketing specialism. I hope to get some experience of International SEO when I get my head around the processes.

  • What do you enjoy about it?

My role is very diverse. Working with our Experts Overseas I get the opportunity to discover their culture and analyse the similarities and differences in the way we use technology, advertise and browse various platforms. The variety keeps me inspired and interested.

  • What are the biggest challenges you face?

It can be hard to fully understand all the different processes our Brighton team and Experts Overseas carry out for Oban. I am forever learning (and attempting to memorise) the disciplines and skills of international digital marketing. It’s my goal to be able to answer any digital marketing related question by the time my apprenticeship is complete!

  • What would you be doing if you didn’t have a career in international digital marketing?

I’d be making wigs and prosthetic noses for films like Harry Potter.

  • What countries have you visited? Which is your favourite and why?

I have visited Jamaica, America and many countries in Europe. I went inter-railing two years ago and loved Bosnia. The people were lovely, the Kravice waterfall was amazing and the history of the Bosnian war was very insightful.

  • Outside of work hours, you’ll find me…

Experimenting with new sweet and savoury recipes from my never ending pile of recipe books; trying out new cafes with my dog; and reading  interior design magazines to find inspiration for my new flat.

  • Top 3: Brand, site and item of technology

Jo Malone because I love their candles and unique perfume blends, Instagram and my iPhone, it allows me to watch my favourite YouTube channels on the move.
